Take a look over the edge, and you may see the famous Laerdal salmon jump in the waterfall.
Sjurhaugsfossen used to be a final stop for the salmon on its way up the river, and watching it jump has been a tourist attraction for decades.
The Lærdalselvi (the Laerdal River) salmon is at its most active in late summer.
Sjurhaugen has a picnic area, toilet facilities, and parking.
